Established by George Smith, Glenlivet was the first Highland distillery to obtain an official license after the Excise Act of 1823. In 1958, the original buildings were destroyed during a fire. From the nose, most of these whiskies are rich. As for the palate, they are in balance between citrus and fine wooden notes. The finish is on malted barley.
