Established in 1872, Cardhu, which means "the black rock", was rebuilt three times during the XIXth century. Renovated in 1960, they passed from 4 to 6 stills. Up until 1981, it was named "Cardow distillery". Its single malt stands for a large part in the Johnnie Walker blends.
