Ben Nevis, named after the highest "mountain" in England (1344m), was built by John McDonald, who gave his nickname to the famous blend Long John. It used to produce malt and grains whiskies. During the 1980's, Ben Nevis closed two times before its actual japanese owner bought it, Nikka.
